The purpose of this University project was to alleviate unemployment in ex-convicts after leaving prison. In particular it focused on those that are heavily tattooed.
This is needed to stop the cycle of recidivism. If ex-convicts are unable to get a job then they are more likely to commit further crimes to get out of poverty.
The campaign is targeting politicians, who have the power to enact legislation change in the employment sector. It also targets the general public using the hospitality sector which often employ these reformed convicts. This hopes to change perceptions.
